Green Gram Curry Recipe

Method 1:

Ingredients:

750gms Green Gram

Previous evening: Roast the green gram slightly and soak it overnight

Method:

Pressure cook the green gram with a little turmeric powder.

Prepare a tadka using ghee, season with a little cashew, crushed pepper, curry leaves and jeera and add this to the cooked green gram.

Method 2:

Ingredients:

750gms Green Gram

1 tbsp coriander seeds

1 tbsp jeera

2-3 tbsps ground coconut

5-6- small onions

Method:

Previous evening: Roast the green gram slightly and soak it overnight

Pressure cook the green gram with a little turmeric powder.

Roast coriander seeds and jeera in a little oil, add grated coconut and saute on medium flame.

Take off heat and grind to a paste.

Add it to the cooked green gram, simmer for some time.

Fry small onions until golden brown and add to the cooked green gram.

Method 3:

Ingredients:

750gms Green Gram

2 onions

2 tomatoes

1-inch Ginger

For tadka: Mustard seeds, whole spices like clove, cardamom, pepper, bay leaves (optional)

Method:

Previous evening: Roast the green gram slightly and soak it overnight

Pressure cook the green gram with a little turmeric powder .

Make a paste of onion, tomato, ginger.

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds & whole spices. When it pops, add the ground paste with the masala and sauté until the raw flavour goes.

Add it to the cooked green gram and simmer for some time.

When ready, garnish with coriander leaves.
